I’m a sometimes planner, geographer, and teacher – always me! I created this page to discuss parks as more than manicured lawns – they can be outdoor gyms, natural interpretive centers, gathering spaces, and places and open space. They can be big and small, urban and rural. In my career as a city planner, I was fortunate to design a dog park on CAD and lead the development of an urban pocket park in downtown Lockhart, Texas – built through solely with volunteers. It excites me when there are multiple uses at a park or open space area – trails, fitness stations, climbing walls, pavilions, and of course bbq grills. I intend to use this blog to share great ideas. Stay tuned!
